Maintenance Technician

Job Description
Two positions - 1 for each shift below.
- M-F - 7: 00am-3: 30pm daylight
- Sun-Thurs - 4X10 shift daylight
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all assigned Mechanical and Electrical duties in a safe, and cost-effective manner.
- Minimize downtime by providing fast and accurate troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, maintaining, servicing, calibrating, installing and configuration of related manufacturing and production equipment, execute work orders.
- Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Maintain necessary records and documents of work performed.
- Lead position reporting to the Maintenance Manager or GM
EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT PREFERRED:
- AC & DC motors
- Motor controls
- VFD's
- Electrical distribution (480vac or less)
- PLC's
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- Packing machinery
- Automated harvesters
- De-stackers
- Seal packs
- Bale shavers
- Chillers
- Heat exchangers
- Conveyors
- Boiler type equipment,
- Pumps,
- Plumbing
- Air compressors and other types of automated facility equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You should possess one of the following skills
- 7-year experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
- Master automotive or heavy diesel mechanic or 2 years trade/technical school in a related field plus 5-years'experience,
- Electrical engineering degree plus 3-years maintenance experience or
- 7-years Industrial/Manufacturing experience with strong electrical knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Must possess their own basic tool kit
- Advanced mechanical aptitude
- Work alone, with skilled tradesperson or operations personnel
- Work in a team environment
- Work with limited supervision
- Able to stand for extended periods, climb, kneel, squat and crawl
- Lift and carry materials and equipment of 50 lbs. or less
- Work flexible hours
- Rotating on call and day shift work schedule
Working Knowledge
- Electrical equipment and instrumentation or controls
- AC & DC motors, motor controls and MCC for the facilities
- Electrical distribution and related equipment
- AC variable frequency drives/DC variable speed drives
- Programmable Logic Controllers and automated equipment
- General Industrial or Manufacturing standards & practices including OSHA
- Troubleshoot PLC hardware
- Operate electrical test equipment and interpret results
- Read, understand, and make use of associated drawings, schematics, and diagrams
- Prepare accurate documents
- Understand, interpret, and apply wiring schematics and OEM manuals
- Adapt to innovative technologies i.E., robotics
- Plan, organize and prioritize work activities and duties
- Multitask and work under pressure
- Plumbing skills i.E., PVC and brass
- Fabrication work
- Basic welding
